01 — About the role

You will work across the business to identify operational risks early, improve controls and give leaders a clear view of resilience. The role is hands-on: you will partner with first-line teams, investigate incidents, strengthen risk processes and make sure the operating model keeps pace with product and market growth.

02 — What you will do

  • Lead operational risk and control assessments with business owners across customer operations, payments, travel, technology and support functions.
  • Maintain practical processes for risk identification, control testing, issue tracking and management action follow-up.
  • Own the operational risk incident process, including timely capture, root cause analysis, lessons learned and senior reporting.
  • Design and maintain key risk indicators, thresholds and dashboards that help teams act before risks become customer problems.
  • Support business continuity, operational resilience and third-party risk activities alongside the relevant functional owners.
  • Review new products, process changes and partner arrangements to identify operational dependencies and control gaps early.
  • Coach teams on pragmatic control design, evidence standards and risk ownership.
  • Deliver clear reporting on material incidents, control themes, overdue actions and emerging operational risks.

03 — What you will bring

  • Four or more years of experience in operational risk, controls, internal audit, payments operations or a similar financial services environment.
  • Working knowledge of risk and control assessments, incident management, key risk indicators and issue management.
  • Experience partnering with operational and technical teams to improve processes without creating unnecessary friction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to investigate root causes and make recommendations that can be implemented.
  • A structured, organised working style and the confidence to follow through on agreed actions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication in English.

04 — Helpful experience

  • Experience with card schemes, payment operations, customer support or travel supply operations.
  • Exposure to operational resilience testing, vendor risk or business continuity planning.
  • Experience using dashboards, SQL or business intelligence tools to monitor operational performance.
